CREVE COEUR ~ Stanley R. Saylor, 60, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 7:46 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home.

Born June 9, 1957 in Peoria to Elwood D. and Virginia M. (Abbott) Saylor, he married Cathy Hopple on February 18, 1978 in Metamora.  She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Nic (Kathryn) Saylor of Morton; three grandchildren, Olivia, Logan and Nolan Saylor, all of Morton; three sisters, Teresa Montgomery of Pekin, Danielle (Michael) Watkins of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Madonna (Larry) Vaupel of Creve Coeur.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Rhonda Poff.

Stan attended Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ in Creve Coeur.

He had worked for Mike Murphy Ford in Morton as a car salesman for over five years.  Prior to that, he worked for Chris Hoerr and Son Food Warehouse for eighteen years.

Stan enjoyed cooking, shopping and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.  He loved laughing, telling a good story and cherished spending time with his grandchildren.  He loved his nieces and nephews and they called him “U.S.”  He also loved his dog, Axel.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Hanna City.
