PEKIN ~ Scott Edward Clanton, 41, of Pekin, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2017 in Canton.

He was born September 23, 1975 in Peoria to Steven Eugene and Connie (Oneal) Clanton. He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

Surviving are his mother of Pekin; one brother, Shane Clanton of Pekin; one sister, Shawn (Anthony) DellaVedova of Aurora; maternal grandmother, Velma Oneal of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.

Scott worked as a Network Engineer for 7 years at Timbuk Tech in Canton.

He was a 1993 graduate of Pekin Community High School.

An outdoorsman, Scott loved to camp, fish and to enjoy his freedom at Giant Goose Ranch in Canton. He also enjoyed cooking and baking.

Scott was a member of New Life Fellowship in Pekin, where he recently became a lead in the Recovery Program.

His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his church. Pastor Mark Utech will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to New Life Fellowship, 1010 Derby St., Pekin, IL 61554.
