Born January 3, 1928, in Des Moines, IA to Guy and Cora Theresa (Davis) Hoopes, she married Charles William “Bill” Hess, Sr. on June 2, 1947  in Des Moines, IA. He was by her side as she went to the Lord.

She was preceded in death by both her parents and her sister, Betty.

Rosalie thoroughly enjoyed working at Wheaton North High School as the head of the Audio/Visual department for 27 years, retiring in 1987.

She also was an avid collector of bird figurines, including a collection of more than 40 different works of art. She loved playing (and mostly winning) card games and greatly cherished the many times she spent with her family.
