PEKIN ~ Randy L. Craig, 63, of Pekin, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at his home.

Born July 18, 1954 in Decatur to Jesse and Dolores (Harris) Craig, he married Barbara Ann Crum on August 31, 1979 in Pekin. 

Surviving are his wife; two sisters-in-law, Sharon (Barry) Harms of Pekin and Nancy (Bud) Loy of Waterwood, Texas; two nieces, Angela (Jim) Fangmeier and Kylie (Nick) Boyer; five great-nieces; one great-nephew; and his mother-in-law, Norma (Frank) Hoyle of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandmother, Nina Craig, who helped raise him.

A United States Army veteran, he served from July 17, 1972 to July 10, 1975.  He attained the rank of Private First Class.

Randy worked for VSI in maintenance at Caterpillar, Inc. for over 15 years in the crib at Mossville and later at the Mapleton Foundry, last working in October of 2015.  Previously, he worked for Pekin Community High School and Hoyle Transportation.

Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and boating.  He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.  He will be remembered for being easy going, always happy, and for his laugh.

His visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  A service celebrating Randy’s life will follow at 6 p.m.  Military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
