PEKIN ~ Nicholas Kim “Nick” Joesting, 36, of Pekin, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Born December 12, 1980 in Peoria to Kim D. and Christine Ann (Rinaldi) Joesting, he married Katrina Leali in 2007 in Peoria.

Surviving are his parents, Kim and Chris Joesting of Pekin; two sons, Remington Joesting and River Joesting, both of Peoria; three brothers, Burton Joesting, Jed Joesting, and Andrew (Melissa) Joesting, all of Pekin; grandmother, Charlene Joesting of Pekin; two nieces, Bella Joesting and Gianna Joesting; one nephew, Waylon Joesting; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Nick had a special bond with his uncle, Gary Rinaldi.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Angeline Rinaldi, and Frederick “Fritz” Joesting.

Nick was a 1999 graduate of Pekin Community High School.

He worked at Ingredion, Inc. in Mapleton for 10 years as a control operator.

Nick’s sons were the light of his life.  He was a true outdoorsman that loved to fish, hunt, and train his hunting dogs.  He also enjoyed sports and was a Chicago Cubs fan.  Nick will be remembered as a caring and trusting person who enjoyed being with his family and many friends. 

He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.

His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, with Father Michael Andrejek as the celebrant.  Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Burial will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joesting Children Education Fund in care of CEFCU.
