PEKIN ~ Karen Kay Lock, 76, of Pekin, passed away at 9:13 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2019 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria.

Born February 10, 1943 in Pekin to John Delmar and Dorothea Wilhelmina (Loercher) Gosnell, she married David M. Lock on March 24, 1961 in Pekin.  He died March 20, 2008.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother, James “Jim” Gosnell.

Surviving are two sons, David Lock of Phoenix, Arizona and Matthew (Susan Lord) Lock of Williston, Vermont; three daughters, Dawn (Scott) Lauss of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Brenda (Darren) Darr of Pekin, and Jodi (John) Williams, Sr. of Delavan; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry (Pat) Gosnell of Marquette Heights; and one sister, Mary (Paul) Kerby of Pekin.

Kay proudly served the veterans of her community by playing TAPS on the bugle for the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.   She was also a member of the George Maple AMVETS Post #235 Auxiliary in Pekin.

She loved her friends, fishing and gaming cafes.  She also was an avid collection of angels and pigs.

Kay had worked as a canner for Libby’s in Morton for over 10 years.  She also had worked several years for Sky Ranch in Manito and as an aide for several area nursing homes.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Her grandsons, Travis Williams and John Williams, Jr. will officiate along with the Rev. Randy Justus.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where an AMVETS Auxiliary Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
