PEORIA ~ Jane Rachel Wallenfang, 6 days old of Peoria, passed away at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in her mother’s arms and went to be with her Savior at 1:25 pm on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

Jane was born on June 21, 2017 in Peoria, IL to Thomas Joseph III and Laura (Ringenberg) Wallenfang.  Jane’s name means “God’s gracious gift.”

Surviving are her parents Thomas Joseph III and Laura Rachel Wallenfang; one sibling, Corine Wallenfang; grandparents, Jean and Jeff Ringenberg and Thomas Jr. and Teresa Wallenfang; aunts and uncles, Amy (Marcus) DeKeyser, Katie (Bill) Wilson, Tyler (Sarah) Wallenfang, and Travis Wallenfang; cousins Avalyn, Everly and Zion DeKeyser, Henry Wilson, and Kellen, Deekin and Rylee Wallenfang; and great-grandparents Thomas and Ruth Wallenfang, Rachel Ringenberg and Charles Schureman.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Gerald “Rink” Ringenberg, Darce and Marie “Bets” Rutledge and Corine “Coney” Schureman.

Jane’s life was short, yet it touched so many.  We want to thank all of the staff at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for serving us with the greatest care and love.  We truly saw Christ work through you as you took care of our sweet little Jane.  She was dedicated to the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017.  She will be greatly missed, but we know that she is in Jesus’ arms in her eternal home, where we will someday be reunited.

Jane’s visitation and funeral are open to anyone who was touched by her life.  Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m on Saturday, July 1, 2017 with her funeral service celebrating her life to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Richwoods Christian Church in Peoria, with Pastor Jim Powell and Youth Director David Bell officiating.  Private burial will be held at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.

Two  Bible verses that encouraged us to entrust Jane’s life to the Lord was Psalm 139:16, “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” And Job 1:21, “God gives. God takes. God’s name be ever blessed.”

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peoria Area Youth for Christ 4100 N. Brandywine Drive, Peoria, IL 61614.
