WASHINGTON ~ Ethel Mae Scholl, 84, of Washington, passed away at 9:27 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria.

Born April 14, 1933 in Peoria to Chester and Blanche (Seeds) Legg, she married Gerald Scholl on October 26, 1951 in Peoria.  He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Mike (Pauline) Scholl of East Peoria and Steve (Donna) Scholl of Sparland; one daughter, Sandy (Richard) Traver of Washington; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Carl, Jim and Robert.

Ethel was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur.  Formerly, she had been a member at Averyville Baptist Church in East Peoria where she was active as a Sunday school teacher, working in the nursery and as a Pioneer Girl’s Club leader.

A homemaker, Ethel loved spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed crocheting, wood carving and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.  Pastor David Lynn will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
