PEKIN ~ Charlene J. King, 83, of Pekin, passed away at 12:24 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at her home.

Born September 15, 1933 in Pekin to Charles and Myrtle (Dutterar) Boldt, she married John D. “Jack” King on August 5, 1951 in Pekin.  He died November 20, 2010 in Pekin.  She also was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, two which were infancy.

Surviving are three daughters, Jody L. (Bob) Burdick of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Kathleen A. (Brad Bucklin) Davis of Washington and Elizabeth A. (Jim Eubanks) King of Pekin; one son, Charles A. (Sue) King of Geneva; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis Boldt of Cottonwood, Arizona and one half-brother, Jackie Sharp of Mapleton.

She was a 1951 graduate of Pekin Community High School.

A homemaker, Charlene previously worked at Caterpillar, Inc. as a file clerk in the engineering department prior to raising her children.

Charlene was devoted to her family and loved her children and grandchildren.

She was a faithful member Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin and participated in the Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible study and was a Grace Café volunteer.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. Dr. Joel P. Catlin and Rev. Judy Kennedy will officiate.  Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
