PEKIN ~ Carol Jeanne Landrith, 79, of Pekin, passed away at 6:34 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at her home.

Born September 14, 1937 in Speer to Ralph and Dorothy Yvonne (Cole) Brush, she married Samuel DeRosa.  She later married Donald Edwin “Don” Landrith on June 30, 1990 in Pekin.  He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Joe (Tina) DeRosa of Creve Coeur, Vince (Cindy) DeRosa of Lombard, and Phil (Debbie West) DeRosa of Pekin; one daughter, Laura (James “Bussie” Ping) Coryell of Peoria; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Rev. Mark (Kathy) Brush of Ozark, Missouri and Rev. Gene (Jackie) Brush of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Lacey Hunt, who helped raise her; and two brothers, Richard Hunt and Ed Hunt.

Carol was a licensed beautician and instructor in Illinois, Florida, Tennessee, and Nevada.  She had worked locally at Flamingo Beauty College in Pekin and Peoria.

She was a longtime member of the Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter #673.  She had been on several bowling, pool, and dart leagues. 

Carol will be remembered for her love of animals.  She was very musical and had enjoyed singing and playing the organ and piano.  She was a St. Louis cardinals fan.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. Mark Brush and Rev. Gene Brush, her brothers, will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial of cremated remains will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin at a later date.
