CREVE COEUR ~ Beverly Jean Gilliatt, 77, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2016 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria.

Born November 27, 1938 in Peoria to Sidney and Lina (Jacobs) Braden, she married Richard Allen “Dick” Gilliatt, Sr. on October 10, 1959 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Peoria.  He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Richard “Rick” Gilliatt, Jr. of East Peoria; two daughters, Michelle (Richard) Schaefer of East Peoria and Sherrill Gilliatt of Creve Coeur; four grandchildren, Richard Gilliatt, III of East Peoria, Chandler Gilliatt of Morton, Erin Gilliatt of Peoria, and Nicole (Josh) Damon of Pekin; one great-grandson, Andrew Damon; one brother, Richard Braden of Bartonville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Tracy Gilliatt; and two sisters, Betty Rose Kneer and Darlene Joyce Carlton.

Beverly helped in the family business, Gilliatt Lanes in Creve Coeur.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and was a long-time member of Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur and the Altar and Rosary Society.  She also was involved with many Catholic organizations in the Peoria area.

Beverly enjoyed bowling and fishing, and was an animal lover.  She was a St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.

Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin with Father Michael Andrejek as the celebrant.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur, where recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m.  Burial will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
