Barbara worked in the restaurant industry and later owned and operated a Convenient Food Mart and the Ice Cream Shoppe in the Pekin Mall with her husband.

She was a huge influence to so many people because of her strength and dedication.  By caring for her husband and family through the best and worst times, she taught everyone what true love, strength, and dedication was.

Her pastimes were playing pinochle, bowling, fill-it-in puzzles, sitting outdoors, working in her yard and flowers, and watching older television shows.  But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.  Her smile was contagious to all who saw it.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.  Pastor Mike Jones will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an education fund at CEFCU in honor of Barbara Green for her grandsons and great-granddaughters.
