PEKIN ~ Alice Marie Trueblood, 90, of Pekin, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin.

Born July 13, 1926 in Fayette County to Earl Leland and Addie Murl (Beck) Weaver, she married Paul Edward Trueblood on August 14, 1946 in Hammond.  He died July 10, 2006.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Debbie Trueblood; four brothers, Charles Weaver, Lloyd Weaver, Glenn Weaver, and Kenneth Weaver; and two sisters, Alma Mae Black and Pauline O’Connor.

Surviving are three sons, Farrell (Diana) Trueblood of Pekin, Ronald Trueblood of Bartonville, and Mark “Ed” Trueblood of Lacon; one daughter, Paula (Doug) Snell of Pekin; eleven grandchildren, Nicole (Troy) Tarter, Josh (Linda) Trueblood, Erin (Nick) Zobrist, Trisha (Terry) Meyers, Tom (Julie) Svendsen, Todd Svendsen, Tracy (Mike) Keaton, Adam (Angela) Trueblood, Steven Trueblood, Matt (Joy) Snell, and Andy Snell; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, John Weaver of Decatur and Eugene (Marilyn) Weaver of Mt. Zion; one sister, Mary (Don) Hadden of Decatur; and three sister-in-law’s, Melba Weaver of Decatur, Ruby Weaver of Port Huron, Michigan, and Mabel Trueblood of Pekin.

A graduate of Brown’s Business College in Decatur, she had been a bookkeeper at many Pekin area grocery stores.  Alice last worked as a bookkeeper/secretary at Dean’s Distributing Company in Peoria for 15 years, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin and was a former member of Creve Coeur American Legion Post #1234 Ladies Auxiliary.

Alice had enjoyed bowling in the Sunday Sunsetters League at Sunset Lanes, gardening, and golfing.  But her greatest joy was being with her family, grandchildren, and dancing.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. Judy Doyle and Pastor Joshua Trueblood will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
